New organisation at Outokumpu
As of March 1, Outokumpu's Specialty Stainless operations will have a new organisation. The new business units Special Coil and Special Plate will replace the former units Special Coil & Plate and Thin Strip.
"With this change we develop a flatter and more efficient organisation with increased operational focus. We aim at creating stable profitability through increased sales of special products and more efficient production. In the medium and long-term, special stainless products are strategically well positioned, supported by good demand prospects for tailored products. In addition, there is great potential to increase our exports to fast-growing markets outside Europe, says Bo Annvik, head of Specialty Stainless. The heads of the new business units will be: Jacob Sandberg - Special Coil, comprising the Swedish units Avesta Works, Klippcenter in Avesta and the former Thin Strip Nyby in Eskilstuna. Jacob Sandberg will also be the new site manager at Avesta Works. Leif Rosén - Special Plate, comprising the quarto plate units in Degerfors, Sweden, and New Castle, USA, the unit in Willich, Germany, as well as Pressplate and Prefab in Avesta and Plate Service Centre Nordic in Degerfors. The Kloster plant in Sweden will be included in the Group's General Stainless operations. Marie Louise Falkland, at present site manager at Avesta Works, will be heading the Group's research centre in Avesta. The Specialty Stainless operations include the plants producing special stainless steel and products. |
