Outokumpu launches steel finder tool
Steel Finder is Outokumpu's new tool for finding, browsing and comparing data about the company's steel grades online. The tool not only allow to search for products based on required characteristics, but also to make comparisons, get data on available dimensions, generate data sheets and more.
What is unique about the new tool is that customers can specify the characteristics they are looking for and then see which stainless steel grades fit this profile. The search query can be based on a number of characteristics, for example on chemical composition, corrosion resistance, mechanical or physical properties, fabrication characteristics, formability or the machining index. Once the search constraints have been provided, Steel Finder generates a list of candidate stainless steel grades for further comparison. More detailed information about the filtered steels is available by simple movements of the mouse. For example, dragging the mouse over "hot spots" provides additional information about the steel's characteristics, while moving the mouse over product symbols opens up dimension data as well as relevant links for more information. "Steel Finder is easy and intuitive to use. All you need to do is enter your requirements Steel Finder does the rest. Comparing grades is also easy and so is locating information on dimensions. I believe the tool will prove itself useful with our customers," says Mika Toikka, Outokumpu Group Marketing. More information here. |
