Andritz stainless order from Ergste Westig

International technology Group ANDRITZ has received an order from Stahlwerk Ergste Westig GmbH, a subsidiary of the Zapp Group, to supply a 20-roll precision rolling mill for a new stainless steel works in Unna, Germany. Start-up is scheduled for beginning of 2013.

The rolling mill in 4-column design supplied by ANDRITZ Sundwig is dimensioned to roll extra thin stainless steel strip to a finished thickness of 0.02-0.5 mm and a width of up to 750 mm. The rolling speed is 600 m/min. In addition to the mechanical equipment, the scope of supply comprises the complete electrical equipment, including automatic flatness measuring and control system, strip thickness control, the process optimization system, and an integrated surface inspection system.

Stahlwerk Ergste Westig already has several different models of ANDRITZ Sundwig rolling mills operating successfully for strip widths from 380-450 mm.
