PPS polishing flat bar for Taunton Bridge

publication date: Feb 7, 2012
Working as 'Your Partner in Polishing' is something that Professional Polishing Services is proud to do. Which is why they were the company of choice to process several thousand meters of stainless steel flat bar for the new Taunton Bridge.

Stoneman Engineering Ltd based in Cullumpton, in Devon, were the logical local choice for the design and fabrication of the bridge and they in turn sourced the material from a local stockholder, Aalco Metal Centre in Chepstow. However the volume and critical surface finish meant that there was only one choice for the surface finish - and PPS were keen to get involved.

‘Knowing the end use is going to be something as spectacular as this makes the project even more exciting," said Kirsty Davies-Chinnock, the MD of Professional Polishing Services. 'We particularly like architectural projects and I know Taunton well so that made this even more special.'

The design shows how versatile stainless steel can be when a team works together sharing their knowledge to ensure the right grade and finish are provided. The end result is both practical and aesthetically pleasing and will last for generations, another reason why stainless steel is ideal for external architectural purposes.
