Andritz receives order for annealing and pickling line
International technology Group ANDRITZ has received an order from ThyssenKrupp Nirosta to supply an annealing and pickling line as well as a rolling mill for its works in Krefeld. The value of the order is in the upper two-digit million Euro range.Start-up is scheduled for the first quarter of 2014.
The new annealing and pickling line will process up to 400,000 t of hot-rolled strip (AISI 200, 300, and 400 series stainless steel with strip thicknesses of 1.5-10.0 mm) as well as 290,000 t of cold-rolled strip (strip widths up to 1,600 mm at thicknesses of 0.5-6.0 mm). In addition to the terminal equipment, scale breaker, and skin pass mill, the scope of supply includes the pickling line, degreasing line, furnace, and the complete electrical equipment, including automation. The new 20-high rolling mill in the proven four-column design is sized for rolling stainless steel strip in a thickness range of 0.3-8.0 mm at a strip width of 900-1,600 mm. The rolling speed is 800 m/min. In addition to the mechanical equipment, ANDRITZ will supply the complete electrical equipment, including automatic flatness measuring and control system, strip thickness control, and the process optimization system. With this rolling mill, ThyssenKrupp Nirosta is extending its portfolio for processing wide, high-precision stainless steel strip. The order underlines the many years of excellent cooperation with ThyssenKrupp: ANDRITZ METALS has already supplied nine annealing and pickling lines and five 20-high rolling mills to this international steel and technology group. |
