Queens award for Siemens
Siemens Metals Technologies (Special Products Unit), based in Christchurch, has been announced as the winner of the Queen’s Award for its outstanding achievement in growing overseas earnings, showing good year on year growth, with an overall growth of 73 per cent since 2008 recorded.
This is the second Queen’s Award win for Siemens Metals Technologies. The Special Products Unit has shown that the commercial success enjoyed is a result of their export activities and also having supported this expansion with comprehensive support services. Roland Aurich, Chief Executive, Siemens plc, said: “We are delighted to have won this award, the second for the Siemens Metals Technologies business, which is a fantastic achievement. Being recognised in this way is testament to our highly skilled, innovative and flexible employees.” Nigel Hayes, Managing Director, Siemens plc, Metals Technologies, UK said: “Having won the award in 2006 and again in 2012, this is an excellent reward. I would like to thank our Products Unit for all their hard work and effort to successfully produce and supply our innovative quality products worldwide.” The Products Unit of Siemens Metals Technologies design and supply instrumentation and associated equipment into flat rolling mills, finishing lines and rod and bar mills worldwide. |
